The Dallas/Fort Worth Marine Aquariums Society (DFWMAS) added a new twist for its annual Next Wave event, teaming up with Steve Tyree and The Coral Farmers Market Coral Show for this year’s event. Tickets for the event are limited and a few do remain so if you are in the area and want to check it out, you better visit the DFMAS website and get locked in.
The event runs from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. this Saturday, February 26 at the Fort Worth Botanical Garden. In addition to the usual slew of vendors and coral slingers, Next Wave brought in four great speakers:
- J. Charles Delbeek M.Sc. — “Trials and Tribulations of a 200,000 gallon Reef Tank” at the Steinhart Aquarium in the California Academy of Science
- James Fatherree — “Reducing the Electrical Consumption of Your Reef Aquarium”
- Gerald Heslinga — “Sustainable Pacific Island Mariculture”
- Matt Pedersen — Reef Builders’ own fish breeding scribe discusses “Passion Incarnate & the Ultimate DIY Project – Marine Fishrooms”
“We have almost sold out the event, but if you are in town or within driving distance, there’s still room for a few more to attend with us” wrote DFMAS’s Marc Levenson this morning.
