The Fauna Marin Dosing Pump had its official US release this past weekend and will begin to ship to stores this week. Each unit will come with three peristaltic pumps and will include a 5 kg set of Fauna Marin Balling Salts and the option to add Fauna Marin’s Trace B Balling elements. Included with the Balling Kit is the Balling Manual with easy to follow step-by-step directions on how to mix your balling salt and how to use the balling system properly. You can also do your calculations on the computer using Fauna Marin’s FxM Calcu. The dosing pump also has the ability to add a fourth channel as needed in the future. More images and details after the break.
This dosing pump has a controller module built into the top of the pump housing so no additional timer or controller is required. Each of the pumps can be independently controlled and calibrated to make sure you are getting the exact amount of solution into your system. The pump channels can be programmed to deliver a set amount of milliliters at set time intervals (up to 24 a day) or the set amount of product on specific days and at specific times. The main dosing head unit can control up to eight dosing pumps and we could see the possibility of the company adding a separate slave unit in the future.
With this release, the Fauna Marin Dosing Pump replaces the GHL Stand-Alone Dosing Unit used in previous Fauna Marin sets. Have no fear about a loss in quality as it seems Fauna Marin is using GHL dosing pumps rebranded for Fauna Marin. As Fauna Marin and GHL seem to have a strong inter-brand relationship, it only makes sense to deliver a high quality product with enough differentiation in appearance while maintaining branding around the Fauna Marin name. Pricing for the unit comes in at around $485 for the dosing pumps plus 5 kg of Fauna Marin Balling salts (2kg Calcium Chloride, 1 kg Sodium Bicarbonate, 2 Kg Magnesium Chloride) and $505 for the dosing pump, Balling salts and Trace B set.
