We first saw the Sfiligoi Astra LED aquarium light at Interzoo last spring and while poking around we found a few updated images of this small-form, nano LED fixture from Aquatics Elite, the North American distributor of Sfiligoi products. The Sfiligoi Astra has been shipping since the fall and is available in a both a standard on/off fixture or a dimmable version. More images and details after the break.
The initial version of the fixture features 18 Cree XPG LEDs (12 cool white and six blue) cranking out up to 139 lumens per watt. A great feature of the Astra is the LEDs are swappable so as LED upgrades are introduced, you can change out your LEDs instead of just having a disposable fixture. We heard an RGB version was a possibility while at Interzoo and while we haven’t seen it on the market yet, we are hoping to see this version come out shortly.
This svelte LED aquarium light measures 12 x 12 in. and can be mounted on aquarium glass from 5-10mm with the clamp or can be suspended with a hanging kit. The dimmable version allows you to adjust the lighting levels with use of a compatible 0-10v DC interface controller. The standard Sfiligoi Astra runs around $725 CAD and the dimmable fixture around $795 CAD at Aquatics Elite. We also saw the Astra is available in the US from Aquarium Specialty.
