The University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science just announced the winners of its annual underwater photo contest and once again, the contest yielded incredible images. For the seventh year overall this amateur photo contest gets truly exceptional entries and Tobias Friedrich’s “Best Overall” winning shot of a pair of gobies (Bryaninops natans) truly showcases the level of talent overall in the competition.
Think you have what it takes to make the cut? All pictures must be taken in the wild and you can’t harass the animal either to get your shot. What do you get if you win? Best Overall netted the winner a trip on Blackbeard’s Cruises, departing from Freeport, Bahamas, and $300. Other prizes range from $50 to $200 in each category.
Make sure you head on over to the University of Miami website to see all the amazing photos.
