Blue teardrop maxima clams used to be so common that Reefer Madness alone would serve up a couple each week. In the last few years the supply of blue teardop maxima clams has dried up to a trickle and this is the first showstopping large blue teardrop maxima we’ve seen in a long time. We showed up at Oculus Aquatics just as this blue teardrop Tridacna maxima was being bagged up and we carted this show specimen through the garage doors and into the sunshine. While the blue teardrop clam was getting a photosynthetic treat, we shot this short movie to remind everyone why the blue teardrop maxima clam used to be the bee’s knees.
We haven’t seen an incredible blue teardrop maxima clam like this in a long time
