The CPR Aeroforce hang-on protein skimmer is one organic straining beast and we are happy to see a few upgrades on the latest iteration of the skimmer here at BAYMAC. The first generation Aeroforce was constructed entirely of clear acrylic and with the next generation model the back of the skimmer, the side closest to the back of the tank, is now made from opaque black acrylic with the intake and output also constructed of molded black plastic.
The black is a nice touch to keep excess light from the aquarium from leeching over into your skimmer adding another potential source of algae production. Plus with the new black outlet, CPR eliminated the nylon screw that set the helped position the skimmer body against the aquarium. This version uses a simple plastic peg to make adjustment very simple. It may be hard to see from the picture of the Aeroforce skimmer but it is the same modifications found on the AquaFuge series pictured below.
These changes to the Aeroforce and AquaFuge are already integrated into the production cycle and should be available at your favorite CPR retailer.
