The Micom LED Heater from Johnlen is a feature rich aquarium heater which brings along a lot of specs we’ve always wanted in an a standalone heater. The Micom LED Heater has both an indicator light for when it is heating, and a basic red LCD display that is used for programming and for display of aquarium temperature. If the temperature gets much higher Or lower than the setpoint the LCD display will flash to alert you. Johnlen’s Micom LED Heater is an interesting aquarium heater which should pair well with their thermoelectric chiller.
The temperature sensor of the Micom LED Heater is set near the top of the unit; in slow water flow the heat from the element will rise and affect the thermometer but in good water flow or a sump placement you should be able to trust the temperature reading. The heating element of the Micom LED Heater is an unbreakable titanium which is surrounded by a built-in heater guard. Johnlen has been exporting their Micom heater to Europe for at least a year where the largest models retail for about the equivalent of $50.
