Recently ReefPearls began production on a larger version of the tasty food that will be hitting the market giving smaller fish and corals such as LPS a tasty treat. The original version was 5 to 200 micron and the new larger version will range in size from 500 to 1,000 microns (1000 microns or ?m equals one millimeter). The larger version can be used in automated feeders and just like the smaller version, stay stable in the water column up to 24 hours allowing time for the coral and fish to eat them without leaking extra nutrients into the system. The primary ingredients listed are fishmeal, fish oil, lecithin, vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants. Recently the company began distribution in the US after being available in Europe for a good chunk of time. The new larger Reef Pearls should run around €8.99 ($12.25 USD) for a 120g package – Aquarium Specialty is expecting to have some in stock by the end of the week.
