No matter how good the stock Skkye LED light tablet looks with its single type of LEDs and moonlights, we don’t need a survey to know that 99 out of 100 reefers would prefer a light that includes discrete blue and white LEDs. To this end a new Dual Spectrum version of the Innovatieve Marine Skkye LED tablet will soon be sporting separate blue and white LEDs, you know, like the LED fixtures we started playing with back in 2009.
The dual spectrum Skkye LED tablet will come in a 30 and 92 watt flavor but only the 92 watter will have dawn to dusk simulation with a separate channel of three watt blues – the main dual spectrum lights will not be individually controllable. Even though the blue and white spectrums of LEDs are not intermixed, since the Skkye uses individual reflectors we don’t expect that color blending will be much of an issue.
The Dual Spectrum Skkye LED tablet lights should wil cost the same as the original Skkye and they are expected to be widely available in the US around the first of the year. But if you’ve still got some spending money, Marine Depot is currently running a killer promotion on the Skkyes where a 30 watt will cost $299 and the 92 watter is just $399.
