The Oceanlife Overflow 2.0 is an aquarium drain and return device which manages this simple yet critical aspect to having external aquarium filtration. Compared to the minimal appearance and footprint of the Oceanlife Overflow 2.0, any aquarium overflow box looks gargantuan and it would be nice to see a decline of the ancient overflow box taking up so much real estate in our aquariums. Like the X-Aqua X-inout the Oceanlife Overflow has features to quiet the noise of the draining water but it doesn’t have the unique pulsing water of the X-inout.
At the present the Oceanlife Overflow is so new we don’t know where to get one, or how much it’ll cost but European and especially Italian aquarists will likely have the most luck since Oceanlife is based in Italy. If the construction on the Oceanlife Overflow is solid we’d love to see them imported en masse to replace the primitive overflow box on tanks smaller than 100 gallons; seriously though, is anyone else sick of overflow BOXES taking up so much space in reef ready reef tanks?
