We don’t like just throwing in pelleted or flake food in the fish tank when they fish are begging; we really look for new and interesting ways to feed them good nutritious food, which also stimulates our marine fish as living creatures. In addition to live brine shrimp or blackworms once in a while, grazing is a super natural way to feed marine fish which not only gives them something to do for a while, but it brings all the fish together for close up observation and enjoyment.
The time lapse video above shows about two hours worth of marine fish grazing on the New Era Aquaculture Mini Marine Grazer in about 90 seconds, during which time all manner of fish get their grub on, and we enjoyed a really good close look at all of them. Even though not all the species in this fish tank are ‘grazing’ species, no one told that to the triggerfish and the little bits that fell off were quickly snapped up by small mouthed species like a sharpnose puffer and a melannotus butterflyfish.
