Albeit not rocking the latest LEDs and equipment, and not necessarily ground breaking in concept or design, we’d be lying to ourselves if we denied the beauty of this French system. Frédeau Marrec’s reef is just plain beautiful, and there really is no other way around it. A solid well balanced aquascape that manages to pull the viewer in without really being overwhelming, great coral coloration and sizable colonies definately make this system a keeper.
This French Reef measures 60x35x28 inches (150cmx90cmx70cm) totaling around 250 gallons or 945 liters. The system is illuminated by a Giesseman matrix sporting 12x80watt T5 tubes. The sump measures 40x30x20 and rocks a Bubble King Supermarin 250 along with a Deltec PF601 calcium reactor. A Tunze 6215 wavebox along with two Tunze Stream 6085 provide flow. Temperature is kept in check by a Aquamedic titan 2000 chiller during the hot summer months.
