We have been following the genesis of the CPR Aquatic Mini and Nano Tumblers and now are finally seeing these in production and on retailers’ shelves. The media reactors use a funnel-shaped housing to gently tumble biopellets allowing for the water to flow up and through the media using a small Rio pump. With the small footprint, it is easy to add these into your sump or filtration area allowing you to get the benefits of fluidized media without breaking the bank.
The final product includes a slide on cover, plastic screen and cap that allows you to easily add and maintain your filter media allowing the treated water to flow out, but keep the media inside the tumbler.
The CPR Aquatic Mini Tumbler has an footprint just under 4 1/2 x 3 1/2 x 10 1/2 in., is rated for tanks up to 100 gallons and is powered by a Rio+ 180 pump that allows you to adjust the flow through the reaction chamber. The smaller CPR Aquatic Nano Tumbler is around 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 x 11 1/2 in. with a 70 gallon rating and powered by a Rio+ 90 pump.
These are retailing around $45 for the Nano Tumbler and $55 for the Mini Tumbler.
