Dr. G’s Marine Aquaculture has been busy lately and just added another product unveiling the Dr.G’s SPS & LPS Coral Dip Solution on Facebook. The company describes the product as touch on parasites but gentle on coral tissues.
Among the maladies Dr.G’s SPS & LPS Coral Dip Solution treats are Acropora red bugs, planaria, the dreaded Acropora eating flatworms (AEFW), zoanthid and montipora eating nudibranchs, bristleworms, and other coral eating parasites.
While we haven’t cracked open a bottle ourselves to give it a whiff, Dr. G’s says it does not use pine oil, oxidizers or iodine. Designed as a prophylactic dip, it is not designed to treat your entire tank.
Each bottle would mix up around 10 liters (a bit over 2 1/2 gallons) of dip. Like other dips, you mix it up and bathe your corals, gently agitating to knock critters off. The difference with Dr. G’s dip is the recommended six hour dip time. Most other coral dips are for a few minutes to an hour or so. The gentle nature of the formula may make the extra time necessary.
We can assume this product is available through Dr. G’s retail partners and from some online vendors but as of posting time, we don’t have pricing details.
