New Life Spectrum, makers of the beloved fish pellets, unveiled a ‘micro-feeder’ at the 2013 MACNA. This isn’t New Life Spectrum’s first foray into coral food, therefore NutriCell is definitely an evolved product. Designed to simulate plankton, it is neutrally buoyant and ranges is particle size from 10-80 microns. 80% of the feed is around 50 microns.
One of the unique characteristics about NutriCell is that it is encapsulated to reduce nutrient loss and help keep it suspended in the water column. NutriCell coral food is marketed for sps and other inverts. There is no refrigeration needed, and it has a shelf life of two years. When it is released NutriCell will retail for around $15 and be available soon.
