Coral Compulsion’s latest 40 watt LED PAR38 spotlight is the first significant development in this form factor that we’ve reported on in a long time. With an all new super-beefy heatsink and actively fan cooled from within, the new 40PAR38 uses 16 LEDs running at roughly three watts each to include all the spectra light a reef could ever want or need.
The CC 40 watt PAR38 LED spot uses 6 royal blue LEDs @455nm, 4 warm whites @3000K, 4 blues at 470nm and 2 violets @420nm with a 60 degree honeycomb reflector which groups the LEDs in fours. The 60 degree nature of the CC 40wPAR38 makes this a true spotlighting LED light, a little narrow for our taste, but the use of all warm white LEDs is a great choice to balance the abundance of blue light and bringing out greater color rendition.
