Centropyge nahackyi is a super rare marine angelfish from the Pacific Ocean which is occasionally found in Hawaii, but isn;t really considered a Hawaiian species. A small, young juvenile specimen has recently been discovered swimming on a Hawaiian reef where recreational divers have enjoyed its unique appearance and novelty.
Although having settled down in a no-take zone, divers are not divulging the location of this lone, single Nahacky angelfish for fear of poaching. Which is somewhat understandable given the highly valuable nature of this beautiful angelfish which is almost never-seen outside of its home range centered around Midway Island and Johnston Atoll.
