Fish Street, the international vendor of the world’s off-brand aquarium devices is one of the biggest sellers of Jebao’s capable but loud WP40 water pump. To address the noise issues, Fish Street hawked together a few bits and pieces of noise cancelling rubber and silicone to create their self-branded Fish Street FS14,000.
The Fish Street FS14000 has the same basic design as the Tunze NanoStream Jebao WP40 but claims to push an extra 1,000 liters of water per hour. The biggest physical difference is an intake cage made of concentric inlets, rather than the longitudinal inlets of the Jebao. The biggest change is the use of rubber grommets and other vibration-absorbing materials to get the noise level down.
The importance of water movers in our reef tanks has never been more recognized and its never been addressed by more different water pumps. While Jebao has produced a propeller pump that can actually move a lot of water, despite the compromises of noise and vibrations, the Jebao WP pumps have been popular enough for Fish Street to add some value to them.
