The new Giesemann Matrixx-II Dimtec T5 may be the most advanced T5 aquarium light ever released. Although LEDs have taking firm hold in the aquarium lighting market, there are still hobbyists that prefer T5 and HQI lighting or cannot afford to jump into solid state lighting. Giesemann married the best of both worlds — the benefits of T5 lights with the advanced controllability we’re used to with LED lights — in the new Matrixx-II Dimtec T5 that is even loaded with Bluetooth controls.
As one of the leaders in T5 lighting, it is good to see Giesemann develop this product. The overall design of the light is based on the company’s flagship Futura LED line but delivering advanced lighting benefits in a more economical T5 format. The new Matrixx-II Dimtec T5 has both active and passive cooling technology, computer designed reflectors and high quality, and fully dimmable ballasts manufactured by Philips.
Each light features the multi-plot light cycle programming we are starting to see on Giesemann’s latest LED lights to give you smooth, transitional lighting programs with 920 available set points. The Bluetooth controls means you can connect your Matrixx-II Dimtec to your PC or Android smartphone or tablet. Depending on the light unit, there are 2 to 4 independent channels (each ballast controls one channel and two T5 tubes) to give you full control of a robust dawn-to-dusk cycle. Advanced controls include: fully adjustable cloud and weather simulations, fully adjustable lunar phases, creation of dedicated user profiles, and the ability to download and share profiles.
These new Giesemann Matrixx-II Dimtec T5 is available in four, six or eight bulb models in 36 in., 48 in. and 60 in. models. The first fixtures should be available in Europe in April with a US and North American launch expected in May or June.
