The PRS Auto ZR 1 is a unique zeolite reactor that shakes the stones with an up-and-down bouncing motion that is propagated with the use of a motor and spring. Now PRS Japan has announced that they have developed two new larger sizes of the Auto ZR reactor for the needs of the larger Zeovit style reef aquairums.
The Auto ZR 1 will now be joined by the Auto ZR2 and ZR3 which hold two and three liters of media respectively. The aggressive zeolite motion of the Auto ZR has to be seen to be believed and the strength of the actuating motor gets the stones really shaking.
While the Auto ZR reactors come equipped with their own 100v 50/60Hz water pumps, users in other countries will need to provide a water pump designed to work with their local electrical supply for which PRS Japan reccomends either a MaxiJet 500, MaxiJet 1000 or Eheim Compact+ Marine pumps. Furthermore the actuating pump that actually does the Zeolite shaking is rated for 240v so wiring this machine up won’t exactly be a cake walk.
The unique and sophisticated design of PRS Japan’s Auto ZR reactors is somewhat expensive but if you’re using Zeovit to begin with, you probably have a little extra coin to spend. The Auto ZR1 retails for 125,000¥, the ZR2 for 135,000¥ and the ZR3 for 150,000¥ which shakes out to $1230, $1330 and $1470 respectively. [PRS Japan]
