Milwaukee Instruments new PH Box DL-100-WF is an advanced pH data logger that includes a probe, data logger and meter all in one plus it features a cutting edge wifi chip. The chip is supplied by Texas Instruments CC3100 and has been profiled numerous times across the larger tech network and includes 802.11 b/g/n Radio, Baseband, and Medium Access Control (MAC).
The Wi-Fi network processor subsystem features a Wi-Fi Internet-on-a-Chip and contains an additional dedicated ARM MCU that completely offloads the host MCU. The CC3100 device supports Station, Access Point, and Wi-Fi Direct modes. The device also supports WPA2 personal and enterprise security and WPS 2.0. This subsystem includes embedded TCP/IP and TLS/SSL stacks, HTTP server, and multiple Internet protocols.
The DL-100-WF is very similar to the popular DL-100 black box system but it includes the WIFI chip mentioned above. Availability of the new device is expected at the beginning of November 2014 with a retail price to hit around $225. Note: the pictures list the wrong model number but the guts of the device are all there.
