There’s a huge number of relabelled controllable DC pumps available to the aquarium market today, but Deepwater Aquatics is hoping their BLDC pump has enough new and higher end features to rise to the top. Much like the Wavelines and Jebaos that are now commonplace in aquarium use, Deepwater Aquatics’ BLDC pumps are controllable DC pumps with an internal/external design, high efficiency water flow generation and loads of noise dampening features.
Where the Deepwater Aquatics BLDC pump stands out is an all metal body construction for better heat dissipation, especially when used in an externally plumbed application, something which is not recommended for Jebao pumps. Furthermore, the Deepwater Aquatics uses higher quality gel feet and noise reducing components and bearings to help this pump run as quietly as possible.
Finally, the Deepwater Aquatics BLDC pump are available in models pushing up to 4,000 gallons per hour with a maximum head pressure of 23.6 feet, compared to a ceiling of 3,170 gph and 19.9 feet for Waveline models. All in all Deepwater Aquatics is only now offering slight improvements over the crop of controllable DC pumps already available to aquarists but we are told they are working hard to bring new features like higher performance and especially, Apex-Ready functionality.
