Bulk Reef Supply, a popular provider of aquarium equipment and supplies announced yesterday they have been hacked. Those customers who were affected by the breach will receive written notice from the company along with free instructions to receive credit monitoring services.
The investigation is ongoing to the incident but the company has confirmed some customer data for customers that logged into the website from July 30, 2014 until January 30, 2015 may have been compromised. The intrusion was initially discovered on January 21, 2015 and the data fix was put into place one day later. Data that was stolen included the name, address, telephone number, email address/username, password and credit card information of some customers.
