ReefStock, the official Reef Builders marine aquarium conference is just a month away, taking place in Denver Colorado the weekend of February 27th and 28th. With ReefStock in its ninth year, we’ve hit quite a stride about getting into high gear for this show this time every year, and for 2016 we’re really working to lay the groundwork for the next generation of reef shows.
Like any good reef aquarium conference worth its weight in salt, ReefStock features a balanced mix of what makes a great reefing event. There will be a few select speakers, the top coral vendors and the best aquarium manufacturers in the country, and a large raffle with lots of exciting prizes. We pride ourselves in hand picking the most influential companies in the aquarium hobby, with both the coral vendors and product manufacturers representing the best and the movers and shakers of our industry.
Our speakers for 2016 include Bob Fenner and Mike Paletta who have both been tasked with presenting something a little bit special. Rather than bring them in to do cutting edge or niche aquarium talks, this year they’ve been assigned with presenting a very thorough look at aquarium fundamentals. Together Fenner and Paletta will be diving deep into what all new reefers should truly know and understand, and the basics that veteran reefers may have forgotten or glossed over. And to balance out the speaking topics Nicole Helgason will be presenting on how our corals go from the farm to our tanks.
Now that ReefStock is held at the Denver Radisson, it is easier than ever for reefers to travel from all over the country to take part in the first exciting reef show of the year, and to enjoy some other aspects of Colorado while they are here. The Denver Radisson is close to Denver International Airport so getting to ReefStock couldn’t be easier, and the special ReefStock room rates are a very affordable $84 per night.
We will be hosting some great exhibitors and livestock at ReefStock 2016 and we expect to get a first look at many new products debuting this year. For event details, see the ReefStock webpage; for updates RSVP to our Facebook event page and be sure to stay tuned to ReefBuilders for all the new products and other stories that we’ll be covering about the show.
