Being covered in water, it’s quite slow and tedious work to explore the oceans either at the surface, or even harder at its depths. We’ve been exploring the secrets of the oceans for less than a century so it’s no surprise that we’re still discovering new and unusual animals from the deep sea on a regular basis.
If you’re a religious reader of Reef Builders, we do our best to cover much of the new marine life being described by ocean researchers. Mostly we try to do our best to report on all the New Species being described from the tropical coral reefs, but we do manage to keep tabs on all the weird stuff from the Deep Sea as well.
Whether it’s Yeti Crabs, Harp Sponges, the Casper Octopus or the newly discovered Crossota Jellyfish, the deep sea is still full of surprises that continually amaze lifelong ocean lovers. For a nice recap of the weirdest and wildest new deep sea creatures discovered in the last several years, watch the video below from SciShow.
