Love MACNA and have some experience as an event planner? Then MASNA is looking for you. There is currently an opening for a Marine Aquarium Conference of North America (MACNA) Director who has an event management, meeting planning, or other applicable four-year degree, who is CMP certified, and has 1-3 years’ experience.
The role will require you to be responsible for the planning, development, and execution of MACNA, online and onsite education events, and MACNA Committee meetings. The plus side is you get to work with some great people and will have a great deal of autonomy, reporting directly to the MASNA President. MASNA is looking for someone with basic meeting planning experience in multi-day, multi-speaker events, contract negotiation and management, and have worked in or have knowledge of working with associations or other non-profit, membership-based organizations.
They estimate a need to travel for around four weeks per year, but you have the flexibility to work remotely the rest of the time. The pay is $30,000 per year with a bonus, reimbursed travel, 160 hours paid vacation leave, sick leave and more. The deadline to submit an application is June 30.
Also keep in mind there is another key MASNA deadline approaching. The inaugural Scientific Poster Session abstract and application deadline is this Friday, June 24. More information can be found at the MASNA website.
