The Freedom Sump is a new line of water filters from ProClear Aquatic Systems, makers of the exciting Grab ‘N Go fish display and retail system. There’s been a surge of new sumps released in recent years but ProClear’s Freedom Sumps are sporting some novel features and innovations all their own.
For the Freedom Sump, ProClear Aquatic Systems has built upon their existing Ultraflex 4-in-1 and RS sump models and added an extra level of form and function for users to get the most out of these quintessential filtration boxes. The most obvious new change to ProClear sumps si the addition of a rim or brace to the edge of the Freedom Sump line, hence the naming convention.
This brace is not just for cosmetics as it sports a number of cutouts to secure things like dosing lines, top-off lines, return hoses, and electrical cords. Of course this little feature doesn’t make a completely new sump, but other new additions like a built-in probe holder, adjustable spillways and especially the built-in media reactor are the real head turners of the Freedom Sump line.
There’s a Freedom Reef Sump which is more basic but with lots of room to allow power users to add on their own choice of various reef gear and accessories. However if you want to go all in, the ProClear Freedom Sump 4-in-1 is where the magic happens. A truly unique channeling system in the top-end Freedom Sump gives users the flexibility of adjusting the water flow to the refugium and built-in media reactor chambers.
The accessory filtration chamber houses three different cartridges, each of which can be filled with your media of choice. These can be used to hold permanent biological media or replaceable chemical filtration, and since they slide in and out servicing or changing the media within them is quite a breeze.
For ProClear Aquatic Systems, the Freedom Line Sumps are a mark of pride with most of the materials and the complete construction of these sumps being built in the United States. Despite the Made in America label, ProClear expects their new Freedom Sumps will be extremely competitive in pricing and we expect these new filters to become very popular and widely used following their introduction this weekend at SuperZoo in Las Vegas.
