With GoDiveNow you can try scuba with a certified diving professional in a fun and safe environment, with all the equipment provided on site. At each new stop of the tour, the team partners with local dive centers so new divers have the opportunity to continue their journey by signing up for a dive class nearby.
The GoDiveNow website features a professional dive shop locator, dive travel finder, and information about dive gear. The dive gear section is especially useful for new divers as it covers how your equipment works, the differences between equipment types and how to select proper fitting equipment.
In each new city, the events run for 2-3 days and can accommodate upwards of 100 divers a day. Depending on the local dive staff there are 2-3 dive professionals in the pool ready to teach you to dive. Anyone over the age of 10 can participate, and kids will need to be accompanied by an adult.
This weekend we had the opportunity to stop by the tour in Denver, and chat with pool coordinator, Big Wave Dave. Dave has been touring the country for nearly two decades with the four-feet deep, 25,000-gallon pool bringing scuba to the masses. Dave launched the first ever ‘Scuba Tour’ in 1998 and never looked back. Since then the annual event has been branded the Scuba Tour, BeADiver and now GoDiveNow.
GoDiveNow launched in May 2016 as part of the Dive Equipment & Marketing Associations (DEMA) national marketing campaign for scuba divers. And although the name has been updated, the mission has always been the same, raise awareness of the dive industry and introduce new people to the world of scuba diving.
