The Aquatic Experience is right around the corner and we couldn’t be more excited for this event. Aquatic Experience is an all-aquatic show which includes both fresh and saltwater aquarists, with everything from reef aquariums to planted tanks.
This year most of the reef shows have been on one coast or the other, so Aquatic Experience being in Chicago is a rare opportunity to get some face time with our readers in the midwest. Also, it’s refreshing and often exciting to see what the other side of the aquarium hobby is up to, because freshwater aquarists and companies come up with interesting products and techniques which often can cross over to saltwater aquariums as well.
In addition to the well rounded lineup of speakers, the live aquascaping competition headlined by Aquainova and supervised by Oliver Knott and the Senske Bros. will give attendees a rare opportunity to see what this interesting part of the hobby is like. Of course, we’ll be scouring all the exhibitors in attendance and reporting back on all the best new products we come across.
If that wasn’t enough, we’ve also scheduled a special evening at local fish store Reefwise, where Julian Sprung and myself will be presenting on some reef-related topics. This is a free event and should give the more reed-oriented aquarists an opportunity to see some exotic livestock, meet fellow hobbyists, and have a generally fun-filled evening of reef talk.
We missed the Aquatic Experience last year so we’re really looking forward to attending this show again. The first couple years were a lot of fun, and since we have a booth this year be sure to swing by and say hello, and pick up a free Blue Facts comic book from us while you’re at it.
