The new IceCap 3K Gyre Generation Flow Pump looks a lot like the Maxspect Gyre pumps and that’s because IceCap licensed the technology from Maxspect to produce a budget-friendly gyre pump.
The IceCap 3k Gyre is rated for up to 3,000 GPH of gyre flow goodness with a controller, but comes at a much more palatable price tag with an MSRP of $149.99. Rate for aquariums from 25-100 gallons, you’ll get the pump, power supply and controller for a really reasonable price.
This pump sits somewhere between the Maxspect Gyre XF 230 that generates 2,300 GPH of flow (retails for around $289.99 with controller) and the Maxspect Gyre XF250 that pushes 5,300 GPH but costs around $339.99 with a controller.
The IceCap 3K Gyre mounts with a single magnetic mount that is good for glass or acrylic up to 3/4 in. thick. The IceCap gyre has five controllable flow modes and allows for a programmable 24-hour flow period.
