Seachem Algae Pads are a useful new accessory that you can pick up at your LFS. Obviously, we all have plenty of algae scrubber pads but Seachem’s Algae Pads can actually fill in where tough scrubbers and Doby pads leave off.
Made of melamine foam like a Magic Eraser, the Seachem Algae Pads are excellent at removing soft to medium tough algaes but with very little effort. Better yet, the microabrasion melamine foam really gets into the tiny scratches of the aquarium walls, removing algae and making them virtually disappear.
At just a couple bucks each, a Seachem Algae Pad can be a great addition to our aquarium cleaning kit. It won’t replace our magnetic algae scrubbers and tough handheld scrapers, but for getting into tough corners and odd shapes, it really does the trick.
