The Apex controller from Neptune Systems is one of the most internet-dependent devices in the aquarium hobby. The main portal to the Apex Fusion software that manages the Apex controller has always been a web-based application but finally Neptune Systems has seen fit to develop and release a native smartphone app for iOS.
The Fusion iOS app includes all the same functionality as the Fusion web-app but should streamline the process of accessing, interacting and being notified by the Apex within the iOS user experience. One big advantage of using the Fusion App will be to receive notifications right within iOS, that way it won’t get mixed up with text messages or emails anymore.
Better yet, iPhone users have struggled to stay logged into the Apex web-app so having a native application should keep that login screen from popping up on a weekly or sometimes daily basis. Hopefully the iOS native Apex Fusion app will increase the user experience for Apex controller owners, reducing the time and number of taps it takes to get to the dashboard to see your aquarium’s vital statistics, and to program or reprogram the various devices that make up an average ‘control freak’ reef tank.
