There is something about the way Bashsea approaches equipment and its not subtlety. Case in point, this customer Bashsea Twister Skimmer designed for Mystic Aquarium in Connecticut, that just looks like one powerful foam-fractitioning beast.
The photos make it look like it should be at home next to a tricked out 1968 Camaro SS Convertible or a slammed “douce coupe” instead of for a fish tank.
The stats on this skimmer are impressive, a 12 in. diameter body, 52 in. tall with a 1 1/2 in. single feed chewing up 5,000GPH of salt water. It was designed for a 2,000 gallon loaded reef aquarium and something tells me this could handle a bit more.
To add insult to injury for other skimmers on the market, they only consider this one a “medium size skimmer”. For anyone that was at MACNA and went to their booth, you probably were able to see a real “large” skimmer.
If you recall, the Bashsea Twisted skimmer line is like a modified Beckett skimmer to be powerful and efficient. It gets its name from the twisted injection system. Enjoy!
