The Ultum Nature Systems ‘DIY’ Hanging Kit is a new mounting solution from UNS which is anything but DIY. Sure you are expected to install it yourself, but this is one of the best looking light mounting options we’ve ever seen offered to the aquarium hobby.
Discerning aquarist sure do love having beautiful ultra clear tanks with tight joints and no rim, and we also love a great looking aquarium light, but the concept of a well engineered mounting system is pretty new. Suspending the more attractive lights with steel cables has been the go-to option for an elegant installation but sometimes that not an option.
Two by fours, PVC and steel pipe might have a kind of ghetto rustic charm, but the stainless steel construction of UNS’s new Hanging Kit is light years beyond that. Instead of hanging lights from the ceiling the UNS Hanging Kit allows you to suspend your light directly from its shiny metal bars, with adjustable joints allowing users to fasten the arms from either the back or the sides of the aquarium stand.
Pricing and release date have yet to be announced but we do know the UNS Hanging Kit will be available in four sizes from 18 inches to 48 inches long. We never thought we’d be this excited about a simple light mounting solution but Ultum Nature Systems has a potential hit on their hands and we can’t wait to learn more about it and see it in person.
