The Aqua Medic microscope is a handy tool for the identification of algae and microorganisms. It appears to have been on the market for a bit, but for all those times where getting a closer look at something –fif you are a bit more inquisitive about identifying what’s in your aquarium. It can be quite handy for identifying and diagnosing algae or dinoflagellates — this could be a handy $20 tool to add to the toolbox.
The pocket microscope includes built-in illumination and a 60x – 100x zoom function. You’ll need two AA batteries. It would be good to have some way to snap a pic, but I am sure you could put your smartphone’s camera over the eyepiece to snap a shot for sharing on forums.
