Chicago’s Shedd Aquarium shared this video on Facebook about some of its newest residents, big fin reef squid. As they note, the big fin reef squid are pretty savvy hunters that like to sneak up on prey and then SNAP! Snatch a meal.

In Oregon? Catch “Saving Atlantis” for Free
Filmakers from Oregon State are debutting their documentary “Saving Atlantis” about the perils our coral reefs are facing. Narrated by Peter Coyote, the film was shot over a few years it follows coral microbiologist Rebecca Vega Thurber as she studied reefs around the world. The 75-minute documentary focuses not only on the impacts on the reefs themselves, but also the people who depend on them. The movie is being screened for free in Corvallis and Newport next week. There is a limited supply of tickets, but you can reserve some at coralreefmovie.org
