Waterbox has been busy of late adding 14 new models to its lineup including the new Waterbox Silver Marine AIO, a new line of entry-level reef-ready series to give people a more a palatable option when it comes to a complete system.
The new Silver Marine AIO series was designed as an entry level aquarium but instead of settling for a smaller tank, this larger system gives you more at a much lower cost. Waterbox set the bar high with their Platinum series they launched last year, but they also realize that people are looking for more bang for their buck.
This is where the Silver line comes in. You still get the Starfire glass, but it might be a bit thinner than the premium models (8-10mm depending on the model). All the tanks in the Silver series feature an integrated coast-to-coast overflow that has all all the filtration tucked in back (room for filter socks, bio balls, carbon, sponges, etc.) along with the return pump.
There are five models ranging from the 28.2 Frag (a 28-gallon, 2 ft. long tank, shallower than a cube and great for a growout tank), the 30.2 (a 30-gallon, 2 ft. long tank), the 40.2 (a 40-gallon, 2 ft. long tank), the 50.3 (a 50-gallon, 3 ft. long tank) and the 65.4 (a 65-gallon, 4 ft. long tank). There are also optional stands in white or black.
If you are looking for a system with a sump, these aren’t plumbed for that and they don’t include a protein skimmer or a dedicated skimmer chamber. But our experiences with the experience in the other AIO systems, there are plenty of options for HOB or smaller internal skimmers you can easily add.
The tanks range in price from $299 for the Frag to $699 for the largest.
