The AquaTesterPro is a new water electronic testing tool from Velda, who specializes in fish ponds, that has us intrigued. Traditional test kits are always a drag trying to determine parameters by matching the closest shade of color or counting drops, and having accurate digital tests available is just ideal.
There isn’t much to go on except one image and a very generic statement and that its “digital” and takes accurate tests and send the details to your smartphone or tablet via bluetooth. From the image it has a simple display and a big, clear numbers and appears to use a test strip.
Our guess is its some sort of photometer and beyond wanting to know the accuracy, we’ll have to wait and see how many parameters it can test, how much the strips or reagents are and how much the Velda AquaTesterPro will cost.
The company will officially unveil it around Interzoo where we’ll learn more. If the price is right and simplicity and accuracy is there, it could be a great tool for ponds and freshwater aquariums. Then hopefully some prodding could get them to bring it to saltwater systems.
