Over the past couple of decades the saltwater aquarium hobby has become ALL about the reef, with corals all but stealing the spotlight away from tropical reef fish. Of course we all collectively love fish but it’s pretty clear that 90% of our energy goes to creating an environment most suitable for corals.
We’re all fine with that but fishkeeping on its own is an art form which is rapidly losing relevancy. We for one plan on creating some fish-centric aquariums in the new Reef Builders Studio and the first ingredient in our recipe to happy healthy fish is a dedicated fish system.
We partnered with Mode Aquariums to install one of their fancy new Retail Rack Systems, in swanky white, to receive, quarantine and condition new fish both for the sake of it, and prior to going into any future reef or fish tanks. Eric Palacios of Mode Aquariums actually gets a gold star as the first industry person to visit us in the studio to collaborate on a video in-situ.
With Eric’s help the Retail Rack System went up quickly and easily and we can’t wait to get it going so we can start playing with the more personable side of reef aquarium life. If you’re into fish, you’ll definitely want to stay tuned as the first wave of fish planned for the Mode Aquariums Retail Rack System will be a fun group, so don’t forget to subscribe if you haven’t already.
