Reef Patrol Underwater Filming Tips
Are you ready to upgrade your underwater camera, or just looking for some tips about choosing the best housing for you? You’re gonna love this new YouTube Series by underwater filmmaker Vanessa Cara-Kerr on her channel Reef Patrol.
Episode one of the Underwater Filming Tips series is a comprehensive guide looking at housing design, accessories requirements, camera requirements and more. The guide touches on camera vacumes, o-rings, maintenance, housing controls, and buoyancy, and future in-depth episodes were announced throughout the video.
We get a closer look at the Panasonic GH5 and Gh4 Nauticam housings, an added incentive to watch the series for anyone owning this gear. Good news for us. Check out our ReefDivers.io series on Panasonic GH5 housings, you know we’ll be tuning in for more Panasonic camera tricks!
One of my favorite tips was near the end of the video. It’s important you get to know about different underwater manufacturers and the equipment they offer. Especially camera housing. Button placements and grips are important features, and everyone hands are different, so it’s important to feel a camera housings in person before you buy. A great tip to see many models at once is to find a scuba diving show trade show. There you can talk with manufacturers and check out many different housings all at once.
I know I’ve subscribed and hit the notification bell for this series, have you?
