Following the successful new format wherein we presented the most interesting new products of Reefapalooza Orlando 2019, some of you have been waiting for the coral eye candy from this awesome event. Without further ado, here is a selection of the hottest Euphyllias, Trachys, Lords, Zoanthids and other notable corals from the latest Reefapalooza.
We really wondered what the landscape of available corals and frags would look like almost a year after the effective closures of corals from Indonesia and Fiji. We definitely noticed a dip in the availability of wild and cultured corals last summer but it seems that the aquarium hobby has more or less corrected the ship.
The proportion of cultured corals offered for sale has definitely increased and while that has certainly resulted in a higher cost of supa-dupa corals like the Holy Grail torches, in the long term captive coral culture ensures the supply of these strains in the aquarium hobby. It was also neat to pick up a few notable cool corals for the studio, several of which are featured in the video, sure doesn’t hurt to have a lot more room to work (play) with corals now.
