It’s been a little more than a year since we first let everyone in on our most ambitious project to date, the Reef Builders Studio. On the surface it might look like a typical commercial coral aquarium store, this facility is really designed to be a temple of reefing, and a factory for original, educational reef aquarium articles and videos.
After about 14 months of balancing the daily blogging, building out the studio, producing two ReefStock conferences, and making videos along the way, it sure does feel good to reach a plateau of sorts. Just like a reef tank is never really ‘finished’ the Reef Builders Studio will always be a work in progress but we’ve definitely reached a certain level of completion of our initial vision.
If you think setting up one reef tank is tough, imagine our challenge of erecting over ten various reef aquarium displays, fish quarantine, and coral holding tanks at all at once! It’s been the kind of fun, aquaristic challenge that we’re really keen to do but that doesn’t take away from the sustained demand of time, energy and money this endeavor has required.
One calendar year later we’re certainly very thrilled with how the Studio has come together and we’re even more excited for what the future will bring. If you thought we dove into the technical left field of reef aquarium products and the most elusive groups of rare corals and exotic fish before, now we have the foundation to not just talk about these things, but really bring them to you in a way that no other aquarium media publisher ever has.
While the temple of reefing we have created might be called the Reef Builders Studio, this has been a truly community project, from the local help we’ve been offered to get heavy tanks up on stands, to manufacturers and livestock dealers from across the globe contributing to the cause. But of course we are extremely grateful to have three incredible ‘Patrons of the Aquariums Arts’ as dedicated YouTube channel sponsors; World Wide Corals, Ecotech Marine, & Brightwell Aquatics – if you enjoy our content be sure and let them know at conferences and other dealings.
It goes without saying that if you like the channel, enjoy watching the videos etc. be sure and subscribe, don’t forget to hit the notification bell so you can continue to tune in for the unfolding of the next chapter of Reef Builders, bringing the world of reef aquariums to you every day, every week, for over twelve years and still going strong.
