We came across this wondering online learning resource and had to share. The Loggerhead Marine Life Center is offering virtual learning Monday – Friday at 2 p.m. Recordings will be posted on the loggerhead marine life page for further reference and also include download lesson plans.
The loggerhead marine campus closed to the public on Monday March 16th however, their lifesaving work in the sea turtle hospital and on our local beaches continued. The innovative educators have moved their educational programs online to help contribute to the education of eager minds of all ages during these unprecedented times.
Daily virtual programs will help keep our next generation of eco-advocates focused and engaged with sea turtle and ocean conservation. Educators at the loggerhead center are working around the clock to bring you and your family exceptional virtual learning modules. Through Facebook Live:
Lessons include at-home activity you can download for children grades K – 12. Although not all lessons have at-home activities for each grade this varies by day. Lesson range from Sketch a Sea Turtle, Water Quality, Sea Turtle, and Microplastics.
Or join a virtual classroom and learn about nebulization for sea turtles. Learn how lung infections like pneumonia affect sea turtles and observe the center’s sea turtle patient
The downloadable lesson plans and test your knowledge quizzes will keep even the most curious kids busy learning about the marine environment.
