There’s very good reason that our latest unboxing video of the CADE Pro Reef S2 is one of our most popular product videos ever. Hyperbole and exaggeration are some of the basic ingredients of the internet and marketing culture, so it’s really refreshing to come across a piece of reef aquarium kit that actually exceeds what we’ve come to expect in full tank packages.
The AIO reef aquarium as we know it objectively began way back in the early 2000s with the classic JBJ BioCube which was the first saltwater aquarium for a whole generation of reefers. There’s been a steady march of progress and evolution of the all in one aquarium, especially for mini reef tanks and there are now countless options and choices especially for the medium sized twenty to fifty gallon
One of the biggest changes to the AIO reef aquarium category has been the incorporation of ‘built-in’ features making their way into larger, and higher quality aquarium packages from major aquarium companies. But one of the drawbacks to having the AIO category dominated by a few established AIO aquarium brands is that they get comfortable, and are content to keep selling a proven product line without pushing the envelope too much.
Just like Tesla with their electric cars, it takes an outsider to really shake up the industry and the new CADE Pro Reef S2 is exactly the All In One reef tank that we didn’t know we needed. Without exaggeration we can s ay that the Pro Reef S2 has more built-in and included features than every other all in one aquarium currently on the market.
‘Luxury’ CADE Pro Reef 1800 S2 Set to Debut at ReefStock 2020
CADE’s biggest departure from the norm begins with an included aluminum framed stand and a built in, simple reef sump, continuous siphon overflow, and a large built-in power center. The laundry list of features continue with a built in top off reservoir, side doors for better access, included screen top, and a pre-attached tank leveling mat on the stand.
None of these features on their own are revolutionary in any way but it’s even more little details about the CADE Pro Reef S2 that make it stand out. The included sump has its own filter media basket which negates the need for any additional media reactor, the built in top off reservoir has a water level indicator, the power center switches have individual covers, and we’ll probably discover even more once we actually get the tank set up. Make sure to keep it locked on Reef Builders for updates on this ‘native’ Australian reef tank build because the CADE Pro Reef S2 is just the beginning of a beautiful new reef aquarium display.
