Dosing liquids from little glass bottles has its own nuances, but in the last year or so we’ve seen a shift change from the detail of refrigerating and dripping straight into the top of your tank, to the ease of hooking up to an auto doser, setting, and forgetting. Australian brand Coral Essentials by Sustainable Reefs now also offer that with their products too.
“The CVE+ is essentially the 3 original black labels (Chroma+, Vibrance+, and Energy+) mixed together in a slightly different way that allows it to be dosed directly from the bottle with no refrigeration needed,” says Shane Colman of Sustainable Reefs. “The original 3 bottles were designed to be hand dosed but the customers wanted the dosing pump option so we made it for continuous dosage, not just a week or two’s worth at a time.”
We asked Shane how they formulated the dosage: “All of the products are developed and tested on our own coral farm, Sustainable Reefs. The dosage is based on the usage in our grow systems, different systems for emulating different types of aquariums that hobbyists might have.
We use the farm to push the upper and lower limits of dosing to find the middle ground of dosage for our customers. But the dosage can always be tweaked how they want it of course.” CVE+ comes in 500ml/17 fl. oz and 2.5liter/93 fl. oz containers and is priced at $39.95 and $149.95 respectively.
