As we sit here this Friday the 25th of August 2023, Reef Builders has accumulated exactly 14,898 posts, 6862 of which were penned by the late, great Jake Adams. So we thought it would be fun to dig deep into the archives and go right back to Jake’s earliest blog post from September 21, 2008.
The Reef Builders website in this format goes back to November 2006, when it was manned exclusively by Reef Builders founder Ryan Gripp, and Ryan blogged daily for pretty much two years until he appealed to fellow writers and was joined first by Brian Blank, then Jake Adams.
Jake’s first published post was on a wild-caught Lightning Maroon Clownfish from Papua New Guinea, along with the immortal words “Perhaps this amazing maroon clownfish will be the progenitor of a domestic strain of Lightning Maroon Clowns. You heard it here first!”
You were SO right Jake!
Take it away Mr Adams…
