The current Reef Builders team are big fans of Turbinaria heronensis, and that’s due in no small part to the love, affection, and numerous column inches dedicated to them by Jake Adams. A green heronensis is one thing, but a protein infected “grafted” heronensis is quite another.
The more we look at this coral, the more we wonder if T.heronensis should have moved to the genus Duncanopsammia when Turbinaria peltata did, as it does remind us of a fused Duncan, which also comes with both green or brown stems.
