Reef Therapy host Remy has finally filled his Red Sea Reefer 625 and its going to be a hybrid of methodologies, learning, and hopefully a lot of fun. After much debate with both the pro-bacteria and pro-sterile tank guys Remy has chosen to take full control of the display tank with dry rock from Caribsea and a bare bottom, but has chosen to inject some ocean goodness with some genuine live sand in the sump as well as an injection of live bacteria via Turbo Start.
We are blessed to live in an era when we can not just test the elements in our tank water but also the microbial life, so Remy sent off water samples to both ICP Analysis and Aqua Biomics, so that’s going to be interesting to track those numbers as the tank is stocked and matured.
On the fish front, the first fish is in, and Remy plans for an SPS-dominant aquascape. Watch the video to see the scape, the equipment, the fill, and follow Remy on his Red Sea Reefer journey.
