One of the most expensive homes in the Kansas City area is being offered for sale. At nearly 17,000 square feet, the Lake Winnebago lakeside property boasts a five-stop elevator, a 1000-bottle wine cellar, a movie theater, an indoor spa, a gym room, a games room, an infinity-edge pool, as well as a two-boat dock, but the clincher for us is the 900-gallon saltwater aquarium situated between the kitchen and a sitting room.
In most homes, we would class this as a huge, room divider aquarium. But the 26’ high ceilings and sculptures actually dwarf the tank, leaving us to dream that if we could afford to buy that property, alas it wouldn’t be totally turnkey as we would get to work on converting one of the nine bathrooms or the games room to incorporate a much larger feature aquarium which much more a wow factor. Maybe not a tank the size of Andrew Sandler’s 17,000-gallon Polo Reef, but somewhere in between the two!
What aquarium would you build?
If money was no object and you could rebuild or replace the 900-gallon aquarium in this mansion, what would you design? Join in the conversation over on the ReefBuilders Facebook page.
