While attending the Love2Reef event in the UK in May, we also got to meet Dr. Jamie Craggs and listen to one of his talks on captive coral spawning. We found it inspirational, we learned a lot, but we didn’t get to video it because we had our own talk to do there, and were disappointed that we couldn’t share everything we learned from the pioneer of coral spawning himself on this platform.
Well, due to the wonder that is YouTube and Google alerts, we’ve been notified that the Dutch Caribbean Nature Alliance (DCNA) invited Jamie to speak at their Reef Restoration workshop in Bonaire, he gave a similar talk, and they videoed it.
So please take 40 minutes out just to watch his presentation, learn, appreciate, and take it all in as we did. It answered a lot of our questions and filled in a lot of knowledge gaps too. Also check out his two day jobs – the Horniman Museum and Gardens, and the Coral Spawning Lab.
The future of coral spawning is going to be super interesting!
Enjoy…
